Acceptance
Acceptance, when it comes to autism, is about more than just being aware that autism and autistic people exist. Acceptance demands that not only is our existence acknowledged, but our right to exist fully as ourselves, with full autonomy, in the way that works best for us, is honored and facilitated through changes to the neuronormative status quo. These changes will allow us to access the support we need in daily living, without respect to whatever differences from the neurotypical norm that we may display in preferred forms of socialization, communication, and general functioning in society.
