Please read the Terms of agreement, Acknowledgments, and Restricted uses below carefully before using any of the services vailable on Embrace-Autism.com, and in particular with respect to the autism assessment services provided by our clinicians.

Access to and use of our services are conditional on acceptance of and compliance with these terms. These terms apply to every person who accesses or uses our services.

By accessing or using any of our services, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you disagree with any part of the terms, then you may not access the service.

Terms of agreement

Please read these Terms of Agreement carefully before purchasing or using any services provided by Embrace Autism.

By purchasing our services, you agree to the terms below:

  1. It might take up to 5 days for our staff and clinicians to respond with the instructions and links to the tests after your payment has been processed.
  2. You acknowledge that it may take 8–10 weeks from the time you upload the screening assessment documents before your assessment is completed and sent to you, and that at times it may take slightly longer.
  3. You acknowledge that it may take 12–16 weeks from the time you upload the diagnostic assessment documents before your clinician processes your assessment and contacts you about the virtual interview.
  4. You acknowledge that the interview booking process is determined by available space and that the calendar fills up quickly, so it can take up to 2–4 months to obtain an interview to complete the diagnostic process.
  5. If you have not heard from us within 8–16 weeks of submitting your documents, please:
    • Check your junk mailbox first for emails from us.
    • If you haven’t received anything in your inbox, contact Embrace Autism’s clinical assistant at hailey@embrace-autism.com.
    • Alternatively, call our office at +1 905 845 4994 and leave a brief message with your name, client number, and the reason for your call.
  6. You acknowledge that you have 30 days to download your screening and diagnostic reports once the clinicians have completed them—and after that, there will be a CA$30 fee to reissue them.

    7. Refund policy

  7. If you choose to cancel the autism assessment process prematurely before you have uploaded any documents, we will withhold CA$100 from your refund to cover our expenses.
  8. Once you have uploaded the documents and test results for either the screening or diagnostic assessment, if you choose to cancel the assessment prematurely, we will withhold CA$250 to cover the costs of work already completed on the assessment.
  9. If you decide to cancel the screening or diagnostic after considerable work has been done on the assessment, we will only refund you for the portion and time not yet used. This reimbursement is up to our discretion.
  10. You acknowledge that all purchases (including screening assessments and diagnostic assessments) are non-refundable after 6 months from the date of purchase—irrespective of whether you have completed the assessment process.
  11. If you choose to cancel days or weeks before the final reports, you will not receive an incomplete report—or indeed any report.

    12. Appointment cancellation policy

  12. You acknowledge that if you have a virtual appointment booked for your diagnostic interview and need to miss or reschedule it, you must do so in writing at least 48 hours (2 business days) before the appointment.

    If you do not notify us in time or in writing, you must pay a CA$250 fee for the missed appointment. You will be offered another appointment once this fee is paid.

  13. The prices of our services or products may be subject to change. However, if you have already started the assessment process, we honour our prices for one year; if you have not completed your assessment submissions by then, the current prices will apply, and you must pay the difference.
  14. Embrace Autism does not communicate with insurance companies, nor do we provide direct billing for our clinicians’ services. If you have insurance coverage, you may be able to receive reimbursement from your insurance company, but you will have to check into their policies.

    If you discover after initiating the process that your insurance company does not cover our services and wish to cancel the assessment, you are eligible only for a refund for work not yet completed, provided none of the other criteria above have lapsed.

    15. Respectful Communication

  15. Any rude or disrespectful behaviour towards any employee, staff or doctors of Embrace Autism will not be tolerated.

Acknowledgments

By agreeing to the terms and conditions above, you acknowledge that:

  1. You are 18 years or older.
  2. The testing procedures, the methodology, and the assessment documents you receive are the intellectual property of Embrace Autism Inc. They will only be shared with doctors, insurance companies, government agencies, and other professional associations that can provide you further assistance and services based on your diagnosis.
  3. We shall not be held liable for any misuse of your assessment or diagnosis on your end. These reports are intended as a diagnostic assessment for your use to facilitate your life, and we take no responsibility for their misuse or misinterpretation by any organization to which you may present them.
  4. Even though we use a HIPAA-compliant email host and server, electronic communications are not encrypted, and their confidentiality cannot be guaranteed. If you choose to communicate confidential information (PHI) via email, it will be assumed that you have made an informed decision and that you agree to the risk that emails may be intercepted.
  5. The screening is not an autism assessment in itself, but serves as a report that suggests whether the psychometrics and information you provided are consistent with autism traits, and that the pursuit of a formal assessment is warranted should you desire.
  6. These terms of agreement are subject to change at any time.
  7. Any legal disputes will be settled in Ontario, Canada, in accordance with the laws of that province.

Restricted uses

As a condition of your use of this website,
Embrace-Autism.com, you warrant Embrace Autism Inc.
that you will not use the website for any purpose that is unlawful or prohibited by these Terms & Conditions.

You may not use the Embrace Autism website in any manner which could damage, disable, overburden, or impair the website or Embrace Autism Inc., or interfere with any other party’s use and enjoyment of the Embrace Autism website.

You may not obtain or attempt to obtain any of our materials or information through any means not intentionally made available or provided for through Embrace-Autism.com.

Land acknowledgement

Embrace Autism recognizes and acknowledges the traditional lands of the Indigenous peoples across Ontario. From the lands of the Anishinaabe to the Attawandaron and Haudenosaunee, these lands surrounding the Great Lakes are steeped in First Nations history.
