Color rendering index (CRI)

A colour rendering index is a measurement of the amount of colours a light source can reveal from various objects in comparison to an ideal natural light source.  Light with high CRI ratings are used in colour-critical places such as art restoration, where colour is very important.  The CRI of a light source is not determined by the colour of the light source itself, but of the light source’s spectrum.
