Fight–flight–freeze

An additional step to the fight or flight response.  Fight or flight is specifically a  defensive response to a threat where you fight or flee.  The freezing part is putting fight or flight on hold, you are preparing to fight or flee but you remain still to watch for the next move and respond appropriately.
