When someone doubts themselves or their own abilities so intensely that they feel like they are a fraud.  That they have tricked everyone into thinking they are a better person than they believe they are.  It affect high-achieving people the most.  Some people may find it hard to accept the achievements and abilities that they have gained in their life.  Imposter syndrome is a potential symptom of depression considering the low self-esteem and feelings of failure that are associated with it.
