Internalization is the process of a conscious mind reasoning about a specific subject, and grounding it internally; it’s associated with learning within an organism, and recalling what has been learned.

In behavioral psychology, internalization can also refer to behaviors and conditions (e.g. depression, anxiety disorder, bulimia, anorexia) in which a person deals with stressors in ways that don’t manifest externally.
