Black Lives Matter

A political and social movement that started in 2013 and is still ongoing.  Black lives matter protests against the police brutality as well as any other racially motivated attacks towards black people.  The movement began shortly after the acquittal of George Zimmerman, the man who killed a black teen named Trayvon Martin.  More recently, the movement has brought attention to the killing of a black man named George Floyd by a police officer in 2020.
