Interpersonal Reactivity Index (IRI)

A measurement tool published in 1983 that is designed to test if a person naturally shows empathy.  The test contains four items with seven parts to each, measuring each individual facet of empathy.  The four facets are perspective taking, empathic concern, personal distress, and the fantasy scale.  Testing these four areas shows how good a persons empathetic response is.
